Scope and publisher
These terms apply to the Hushmere Android application and hushmere.org, provided by Hushmere. Questions can be sent to [email protected].
By using Hushmere, you agree to these terms to the extent permitted by applicable law. If you do not agree, you can stop using the website and uninstall the app.
If you are not legally able to agree to these terms yourself, ask a parent or guardian for permission and appropriate supervision. These terms do not change the rules that apply to your use of Android or Google Play.
Using Hushmere
The current app provides soundscapes, a visual breathing guide, favorites, personal listening rituals, and playback timers. It is free to use, with no account, advertisements, subscriptions, or in-app purchases.
You may use the app for your own lawful listening and wellbeing activities. Do not use it to interfere with other systems, bypass security controls, infringe another person's rights, or misrepresent your connection with Hushmere. Restrictions apply only to the extent permitted by law.
You control playback, volume, and timers. A timer is a convenience, not a safety-critical alarm or a guarantee that playback will stop at an exact moment on every device.
Wellbeing and safe use
Hushmere is for general relaxation and everyday wellbeing. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent a medical condition. It does not replace professional advice, care, or emergency assistance.
Results vary, and we do not promise a particular sleep, focus, or meditation outcome. Seek qualified advice for persistent sleep or other health concerns.
- Listen at a comfortable volume and take breaks when needed.
- Do not use sleep audio or breathing exercises while driving, operating machinery, or doing anything that requires alertness.
- Follow the breathing guide only if it feels comfortable. Do not force a breath or a hold. Stop if you feel dizzy, breathless, or uncomfortable.
Content and separate licenses
App code, branding, and original artwork are protected by applicable intellectual-property law. These terms give you permission to use the app, not ownership of its brand or proprietary content.
The sound collection includes owner-supplied material and recordings under CC0 or Public Domain terms. Fonts, icons, and software components may have their own licenses. See Sources and credits for notices and retained references.
Separate licenses govern those components. Nothing in these terms restricts rights you already have under a CC0 dedication, Public Domain status, open-source license, or mandatory law. Do not assume that every sound or image has the same license.
Privacy and local storage
Our Privacy policy explains the app's local storage, website connections, and support correspondence.
Favorites, recent listening, rituals, and preferences are stored only on your device. There is no Hushmere account, cloud synchronization, or backup of these records. Clearing app storage or uninstalling removes them. Do not use the app as the only place to keep information you cannot afford to lose.
Updates and availability
We may update the app, add or remove content, or change features for technical, legal, or product reasons. Website availability and playback can be affected by your device, Android settings, other audio, connectivity, or maintenance.
The current app is free. Any future paid offering or materially different data handling would need clear disclosure before you choose to use it; these terms do not authorize an undisclosed charge.
You can stop using Hushmere at any time. If we discontinue a service or make a material change, we will provide notice where applicable law requires it.
Your legal rights
We aim to provide a dependable app, but cannot promise uninterrupted operation, error-free playback, or a specific wellbeing result.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits consumer rights, guarantees, remedies, or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. This includes protections under applicable laws where you live. The app's free status does not remove those protections.
These terms do not impose mandatory arbitration or a class-action waiver. If a provision cannot be enforced, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
Please contact us first if you have a concern so we can try to resolve it. This does not limit any right to seek assistance from a regulator, consumer body, or court.
Changes and contact
